Visiting Mount Carmel Retirement Residence
This year, the BCSA will be visiting visiting Mount Carmel Retirement Residence in attempt to bring a caring presence, a willingness to listen, and a joyful spirit to the residents. Whether through dialogue, song, and/or as witnesses to Christ, the volunteers will have the opportunity to dive deeper into their faith through good works.
"The works of mercy are charitable actions by which we come to the aid of our neighbor in his spiritual and bodily necessities. 242 Instructing, advising, consoling, comforting are spiritual works of mercy, as are forgiving and bearing wrongs patiently. The corporal works of mercy consist especially in feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and burying the dead. 243 " (CCC 2447)
