How has your faith grown since being a member of the BCSA?
Daiana Barboza
My name is Daiana Barboza and I am currently a student at Brock University, majoring in Psychology. I am 24 years of age, and I like many different things, which include various sports, and being around friends. At above all however, what I enjoy the most is to be in God's presence while attending Mass.
For quite some time now, ever since my return to the Catholic faith, I have been desperately trying to find my place in the Church; a place where God has intended for me to find him in the bonds of friendships with individuals who value and see the world through the eyes of faith in Christ.
Thus I went on a search for that place where I can share and grow for my love and faith in God on my University Campus. I know first hand that it has been difficult to encounter this throughout my University experience: to meet people that are willing to demonstrate and express their faith openly and their love for God. Perhaps I have always been oblivious to this movement, or simply I had been part of a completely different world before God decided to change my life. And so, in my search, I found the Brock Catholic Students' Association. God sent me the BCSA at the right time: when I was struggling to sustain my faith, and felt alone in a student home that was telling me that there, "Is no place for God or His teachings." The people I encountered at the BCSA helped me to strengthen my faith, my hope, and to grow as an individual; most of all, I have build relationships that have helped me to know that I don’t have to do it alone.
I know I no longer need to succumb to the world and what it offers. It has been a wonderful journey so far and during this, my last year at Brock, I know God will have many more beautiful memories in store. Thank you, Brock Catholic Students' Association, and all its members for letting me see that there is hope and beauty in everyone we meet.

Would you encourage others to become a member?
Kelly Servos
Hey guys!! My name is Kelly Servos. I am a second year Psychology student. By saying, “I encourage you to join the BCSA”, would be a complete understatement! I am telling you that if you want a life changing experience in University then this is the club you have to join! Belonging to the BCSA means that you are going to embark on a deeper journey of faith. You will meet amazing people and you will be inspired to leave positive foot steps in this world. It is the best feeling to have other young people to share the journey of faith with.
This club has helped me discover who I truly am. Going to mass with other young Catholics puts the biggest smile on my face because this is what God wants from us. We are the hope of the church! It is so important to have young people to come together and make the church alive. I have been so inspired by so many people in this club ! Individuals in this club have amazing stories of faith and great hearts. This club has really brought me closer to God and has made me a better person. What I love about this club is that we serve others. We put our faith into action! We come together as one community with many awesome events such as Sunday mass on campus, Adoration at a neighborhood church, game nights, retreats and dinners! We love together, laugh together and pray together!
At World Youth Day 2013, Pope Francis said, “And so it is in our life dear young friends: If we want it to have real meaning and fulfillment, as you want and as you deserve, I say to each one of you, “Put on faith”, and your life will take on a new flavor, it will have a compass to show you on the way; “put on hope” and every one of your days will be enlightened and your horizon will no longer be dark, but luminous; “put on love”, and your life will be like a house built on rock, your journey will be joyful, because you will find many friends to journey with you. Put on faith, put on hope, put on love!" The BSCA does just that! So please come join us and I personally will guarantee you an unforgettable University experience!!

What was your favourite memory of this past year?
Kailey Meehan
My name is Kailey Meehan, I am entering my third year of Biochemistry and the Brock Catholic Students’ Association (BCSA) has been bringing joy and enrichment to my life since I was in first year. This is why it is so difficult to pick a favourite memory from this year, because so many things have contributed to my faith journey. However, one of the things that I thoroughly enjoyed this year was the annual winter retreat. As school is very hectic, it's always nice to step away from the stress of school and be with our Lord through the good company (wherever two or more are gathered in my name…) and in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, both of which allowed for growth in my own personal faith journey. It also provided an opportunity for the BCSA to grow as a community of faith since I had the wonderful opportunity of getting to know other members better. As such. there were many occasions to bond, one of which was through a wonderful night of praise and worship. The night consisted of a guitar, a piano, singing, and even some dancing: it was a ton of fun! The retreat was definitely one of my favourite the BCSA events last year and I am looking forward to another wonderful year as a member of the BCSA!
